Universal Sand Strength Machine (High range) 405-A

The base machine without accessories, covers three compressive strength ranges:

0-5.2 psi (0.365 kg/cm²) for testing green core sands;

0-52 psi (3.65 kg/cm²) for testing green molding sands;

0-520 psi (36.5 kg/cm²) for measuring dry compressive strength.

The specimen used in compressive testing is stripped from a specimen tube (No. 315-9, not supplied) onto the stripping post, and the stripping post is slipped directly into the test position, without disturbing the specimen. The No. 315-14 Stripping Post and compression heads (No. 405-76 for low load beam and No. 405-80 for high load beam) are included.

The instrument conforms to AFS specifications and is easily converted from one setup to another without tools. Metric scale available upon request.
